Two day crafts bazaar concludes in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, DEC 8 (DMN) – Two day crafts bazaar concludes in Islamabad. The two-craft bazaar held under the aegis of Nomad Art Gallery concluded at Islamabad Serena Hotel.

The bazaar was arranged to celebrate artisan communities from across the country and empowering them and develop an audience for handicrafts.

From contemporary bags and organic honey, oils and dry fruits from the Northern Areas to block printed bags by master craftsmen, the exhibition offered visitors collectibles and home decoration, original fine art and craft items that cannot be found in malls and supermarkets.

Visitors evinced interest in engraved slates, truck art and quarter plates that can make descent gifts, fancy embroidered handbags, handwoven Balochi rugs, Kashmiri cushion covers and dresses, and finely done Japanese shibori apparel and Sindhi ajrak on cotton and silk were also showcased.

Ambassador of Spain Manuel Duran while talking to this agency said crafts festival was nothing less than a treasure hunt and a chance to enlarge his collections without burning a hole in his pocket.

He said he would buy plenty of souvenirs for his family and friends to present them on the occasion of Christmas. –DMN
