Nigerian embassy Islamabad celebrated

ISLAMABAD, - - Maj. Gen (Retd) Ashimiyu Adebayo Olaniyi High Commissioner of Federal Republic has said both countries enjoy good cordial relations for the last many years but these relations could not be translated into economic term due to different reasons.

He expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of 59th anniversary of Independence of Nigeria. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati was the chief guest.

The high commissioner further said trade volume between the two countries needs to be improved.

He said that Nigeria offers great investment and business opportunities to Pakistan in a number of areas including oil and gas, pharmaceutical, textile, minerals and mining, shipping, agriculture, livestock and fisheries.

Azam Swati also spoke on the occasion and said both Pakistan and Nigeria enjoy excellent relations.

He said Nigeria is very important country therefore Pakistan is looking for to have increased engagement with Nigeria in order to have access to other African countries thru Nigeria.

Azam Swati also talked about PTI government priorities especially on the foreign front and termed PM recent visit to UNGA a great success.

He said the international community needed to pay attention to plight of the suffering Kashmiri people before it was too late.

Spanish Ambassador Manuel Duran hosts national day reception

ISLAMABAD,  - Ambassador of Spain Manuel Duran has said Spain and Pakistan are good friends adding bilateral relationship was on a positive trajectory.

He said Spain, Pakistan relations have witnessed marked improvement over the years adding Spain happens to be the 8^th largest trading partner of Pakistan.

Number of tourists both Spanish coming here and Pakistanis flying to Spain has increased manifold and the interest in everything between the two countries grows by the minute.

The Ambassador expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of National Day of Spain.
